UNI project: Create a brand identity for the event Weird & Wonderful Wood.

Weird and wonderful wood is a specialised art and craft festival with a difference – dealing solely in wood. Held yearly on the grounds of Haughley Park. A wide variety of stalls cover the lawns and fill the barn – from fine furniture to chainsaw carving, musical instrument making to den-building – and workshops are a few of the many things happens there.

Brand identity


Considering this is a creator event where people work from the the baic component wood. I took inspiration from lively and “weird” vines, chopped fire“wood” and “wonderful” tools. Making them into core shapes that can be combined in various ways to create iconography or other visual artwork.

Wood can be made into many shapes but in its original state can be simplified down to basic shapes, a circle or line. This ended up being the core concept of the brand identity.

To lessen paperwaste wayfinding and other important information was made to be presented digitaly.

Creating different merchandise so theres visability and clearity between visitor, crafters and crew working the grounds.
